Rhode Island to host ‘The Servant’

Iranian animation ‘The Servant’ has been qualified for the Rhode Island International Film Festival in US.

Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the animation will represent Iran at the 20th edition of the Vortex Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror section of the event.

Vortex Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror Film Festival is a sidebar section of the Rhode Island Film Festival.

‘The Servant’ has been chosen among 3000 films from 40 countries to vie in the festival.

‘The Servant’ narrates the story of a writer who catches an insect in a glass. Instead of following his first impulse to kill it, he lets his captive bug live and grow. Over time, however, the roles of prisoner and guard threaten to swap.

‘The Servant’ has so far screened at different national and international film festivals, racking up more than 20 awards.

The 20th edition of the festival is slated for October 19 – 26, 2019.
